POLICE officers from three forces have raided a gipsy site.

Officers from Beds, Herts and Cambs entered the site in Myers Road, Potton, on Thursday morning looking for stolen goods.

At the end of the operation following a lengthy investigation, police recovered a stolen Audi A3 which had false number plates, a ride-on lawnmower, a sand buggy and chain saws.

All the goods had been reported stolen during burglaries in Cambridgeshire.

Insp John Maries of Biggleswade police said: "The operation went very well and we carried out a number of search warrants. There was no resistance from anyone on the site."

One man from the site, Frank Smith, has been charged with a number of burglaries and has been remanded in custody pending further inquiries.
