TWO shops are urging Comet country residents to bring a little Christmas joy to people in need by donating gifts.

The ASDA store in Six Hills Way, Stevenage, is collecting gifts for people of all ages, from tots to teenagers to the elderly, in its Christmas appeal.

The appeal runs until this Sunday and all presents should be put unwrapped in the present trolley at the food hall entrance.

The gifts will then be wrapped and delivered to the Salvation Army and Help the Aged for distribution.

Travelcare in Stevenage Town Square is collecting gifts for the Bluebell children's ward at Lister hospital.

New or nearly new gifts suitable for children of all ages should be taken, unwrapped, to the shop before Thursday, December 21.
