If you fancy getting festive, head to Biggleswade’s Christmas fair, where there promises to be something for all the family.
The Biggleswade Town Council event opens at midday on Friday, November 25, with a range of stalls selling a variety of festive gifts and treats, including wreaths and decorations.
There will also be children’s rides and a range of street food to enjoy, including Caribbean cuisine, Texas smoked brisket, chicken gumbo, hotdogs and burgers, hog roast, roasted chestnuts and mulled wine. Tuck in while you enjoy the entertainment on stage, with every school in Biggleswade taking part.
Mike Thorn, the council’s deputy vice clerk, said: “This is a fabulous opportunity for children of all ages to perform outside of their school environment and their music always brings a smile to the faces of shoppers in the Market Square.”
As well as the schools’ performances, Biggleswade Gospel Singers and the Emily Thornton School of Dance will also take to the stage.
The Stotfold Salvation Army Band will be joined by the Edward Peake School Choir and the Biggleswade and District Choral Society for carols.
There will also be a presentation of prizes for the Best Dressed Window competition and a children’s competiton, before the countdown to the Christmas lights switch-on.
Visit the town council’s market stall this Saturday to pick up information about the two competitions.
Mike said: “The fair will have a real community feel to it and we are grateful to all those who are taking part from organisations in Biggleswade.”
