Yuletide spirit will be in the air at St Mary the Virgin's Christmas Tree Festival at Baldock.

Visitors can enjoy the event again after the success of last year's festival which drew 1,000 people to view 52 trees.

Local groups, schools, shops, families or individuals are invited to enter a tree in the festival. They can be real or fake as long as they are decorated.

Prizes will be awarded to those with the best-dressed trees as voted for by the attendees. There will also be a spot at the base of the tree to advertise the supplier or organisation if they so wish.

The event is taking place on Saturday (December 2) from 10am to 4pm and on Sunday from noon until 6pm. The Sunday event will be followed by a celebration service in the church.

Refreshments will be served in the hall throughout the weekend and there will also be a grand draw and stalls. Adults will be charged £1.50 to visit the tree festival while children go free.

To take part contact Shelley Wilsher on 01462 642026 for a booking form or further information.
