IDENTICAL twins proved that two heads are better than one when they got their GCSE results from Barclay School in Stevenage.
Alice and Eleanor Wagstaff Sherwood spoke of their relief after finally getting their results.
Alice sailed through with five As, four Bs and two Cs and is considering studying English and media studies at college. She said: "It is more relief than anything else that we have finally got our results. I'm really happy with them."
Her twin Eleanor also passed with great results, getting seven Bs and four Cs. She is off to college to study English and psychology.
Fellow student Harmanjit Bains got nine As and three Bs and Emma Holgate, also got two A*s, seven As and three Bs
Early indications show that 49 per cent of the 183 Barclay pupils who took GCSE received five or more A to C results and 97 per cent received five or more A to G results. About 99 per cent of students got at least one A to G pass.
Headteacher Russell Ball said: "We are very pleased with the set of results. As always the youngsters who worked hard got what they deserved.
