Will you come in sparkles, neon pink or glow-in-the-dark yellow? Fluorescent fundraisers are set to walk by the light of the stars this weekend to raise funds for hospice care.

Garden House Hospice Care’s annual Starlight Walk is always a special evening, as many people walk the six-mile route in memory of a loved one – and the 2017 walk is tomorrow night.

The walk starts and finishes at the North Herts Leisure Centre in Letchworth, with marshalling through the whole route and entertainment and hot refreshments at the end, supplied by Baldock’s Chilli Lounge restaurant.

Those taking part for the first time this year include Amandeep Dhillon from Baldock, who is set to walk alongside her husband Jaskaran and sisters-in-law Palwinder and Harpreet.

Amandeep said: “We have all had someone close to us that has had an illness, some long-term.

“We have been wanting to take part for the last couple of years and raise money for such a good cause and take in the great community atmosphere.

“This year, luckily, as a family we have all found the time.”

The Dhillons have raised £650 so far on their Justgiving page – if you want to support them, see justgiving.com/fundraising/thedhillonsfundraisingpage.

It’s £15 per person if you’d like to take part. You can register on the night from 7.30pm or in advance at ghhospicecare.org.uk.
