HUNDREDS turned out for one of Comet country’s longest running festivals on Sunday.

Walsworth Festival pulled in the crowds with its displays, entertainment and stalls, with unexpected sunshine also giving a helping hand.

The largest free festival in North Herts also saw neighbouring St Faith’s Church open up for cream teas, dance performances and photographic displays.

Highlights of the main festival included Letchworth Morris Men, Hitchin School of Russian Ballet, ferret racing, and a veteran car parade.

Committee member Alan Millard said: “The weather held out and we had excellent crowds.

“It was a very successful day, and thanks go to everyone for attending, both the stall holders and the public.”
