Festiwool – a craft fair for lovers of textile art, sewing, knitting and crochet – hosted more than 50 stalls and a fashion show at North Herts College Centre’s campus in Cambridge Road.

The event also saw students and staff from the college involved in the fashion show, with the world’s oldest supermodel Daphne Selfe also helping model some of the outfits.

Organiser Phillipa Gregory said: “I’m trying to revolutionise the way people look at wool as I want to bring yarn to a younger generation.

“We had a slightly different twist as I wanted students to participate, and the feedback afterwards was good. When you mention wool to people they think of ‘little old ladies’ but it can be for everyone. Daphne said she had a lovely time too. The wool community is a friendly bunch!”
