FORMER Boro defender Santos Gaia has signed for Crawley Town until the end of the season.

The 30-year-old, who joined Boro in June 2006 but left midway through last season for Grays, had been at crisis-club Weymouth and played for the Terras in their 3-0 loss against Boro a fortnight ago but he has joined the growing number of players who have left Weymouth in recent days due to a pay dispute.

Another such player, goalkeeper Danny Knowles, played against Boro for Woking on Tuesday night.

According to the Dorset Echo, Weymouth player, Lee Phillips, is talking to Boro. Kidderminster and Chester City have also been linked.
