Almost 140 kids of all ages enjoyed a charity fun day on Letchworth's Jackmans estate on Saturday, raising more than £150 for Garden House Hospice Care in the process.

The Disney-themed day, at the Jackmans Community Centre, boasted two bouncy castles, ball pits, live music and more – and organiser Shane Pearson said it was great to see the community coming together.

“We got 138 people through the door,” he said.

“It was really great. The kids were the highlight for me, they loved the bouncy castles and the ball pit. There were more balls out on the floor than inside the pit!

“The band was playing, and it was great to see the parents talking too – a real community thing, bringing people together, mothers and fathers coming to the same place.

“It’s fantastic to raise money for charity while bringing the community together as well.”

Some kids had their faces painted, and Mickey Mouse and Chase the police pup from Paw Patrol also dropped in to join the day’s fun, which raised an estimated £156.

Shane and the team have more events like this coming up – to get involved, call him on 07827 445900.
