IT was full steam ahead when a major model train exhibition was staged in Biggleswade at the weekend. The East Beds Model Railway Society held its annual show at Stratton Upper School and once again it attracted a lot of interest from people of all ages.
IT was full steam ahead when a major model train exhibition was staged in Biggleswade at the weekend.
The East Beds Model Railway Society held its annual show at Stratton Upper School and once again it attracted a lot of interest from people of all ages.
The model being shown by society chairman Bern Munday to Jamie Braybrook, 10, is of Cheriton Bishop - a British Rail Western Region layout set in the 1950s and early 1960s.
It was originally conceived as a branch line called Ambleddwyn and has been constantly updated by members with new buildings and rolling stock.
Visitors were also able to see working scale models of long- lost railways in Norfolk, Plymouth, Austria and Yorkshire.
