THE fourth defendant in the John Finney trial has been found not guilty of his murder.
Gary Lattimore, 40, was acquitted this afternoon (Monday) of playing a part in the death of the 42-year-old traveller whose naked, headless and handless body was dumped behind a garage block in Ickleford in March last year..
Evidence gathered by police showed that Mr Finney was tortured and murdered two weeks earlier in an industrial unit in Wilbury Way, Hitchin.
Mr Lattimore was also cleared of a charge of assisting an offender.
The jury of six men and six women at St Albans Crown Court earlier found father and son Norman and Joseph Jones guilty of killing Mr Finney.
Another defendant, Mark Curran, was cleared of murder.
