Four men were arrested this morning after a drugs bust in Letchworth.

As part of Operation Scorpion, officers from the Letchworth, Baldock, Hitchin and Royston Safer Neighbourhood Teams executed a search warrant at a house in Icknield Way at about 7am and seized a quantity of Class A and Class B drugs.

Two men – aged 38 and 44 and both from Letchworth – were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

A 26-year-old man from Letchworth was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, shoplifting and possession of Class B drugs.

Another man – a 28-year-old from London – was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and possession of Class B drugs.

Sgt Alan Clarke said: “The unlawful possession and supply of drugs will not be tolerated.

“It has an extremely destructive impact on people’s lives and the community as a whole. Any such activity reported to police will be acted upon quickly and robustly.

“Through our own investigations and information from the public, we can work together to keep Letchworth safe and I would therefore strongly encourage people to always report suspicious activity to us should they come across it.

“Crime or suspicious activity can be reported to us via the police non-emergency number 101 or dial 999 if you witness an offence in progress. Alternatively call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
