FOUR men from North Herts were arrested after police broke up an illegal rave at a disused factory in Suffolk on Saturday night.

Suffolk police were called to the factory in Homefield Road, Haverhill, at 11.52pm after being tipped off by Cambridgeshire police that the illegal rave was to take place.

Police officers were met by a group of hostile men who pelted officers with missiles.

Two police helicopters were sent to help from Suffolk and Essex.

A notice to close down the rave was served at 1.40am on Sunday and everyone had been cleared from the area by 7.20am.

Three men from Letchworth GC age 25, 22 and 19 and a 22-year-old man from Baldock were arrested on suspicion of organising an illegal rave. The 19-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled drug.

All four were released on police bail but must return to Bury St Edmunds Police Station on January 13, 2010.
