Former Stevenage boss Teddy Sheringham has been sacked by Indian Super League side ATK.
The 51-year-old was appointed in July last year but he won just three of his 10 games in charge of the Kolkata-based team, despite having players such as Robbie Keane, the Republic of Ireland’s all-time record goal scorer, and ex-Birmingham City midfielder David Cotterill at his disposal.
ATK are two-time Super League champions and have never failed to make the playoff stage but currently sit second bottom of the 10-team league, forcing the club’s owners to make a change, handing the reigns to Ashley Westwood.
Sheringham took his first job in management at Boro, replacing Graham Westley in May 2015 but he struggled during his time at the Lamex.
The former Manchester United and England striker won just seven of his 33 games in charge of Stevenage, with the club parting ways with Sheringham in February 2016, replacing him with current manager Darren Sarll.
