The trial of a former councillor who is accused of assault and burglary is due to start today (Monday).
Richard Harman, of Denby in Letchworth GC, is due to appear at Cambridge Crown Court after pleading not guilty to a charge of causing actual bodily harm to a woman on January 5 of this year at the Jackmans Community Centre in Letchworth GC.
He is also charged with entering a property in Ellice, Letchworth GC, on the same day as a trespasser with the intent to do damage.
The 51-year-old resigned from his Letchworth South East seat on North Herts District Council in September 2012.
The trial is expected to last five days.
