EX-ENGLAND footballer Paul Gascoigne is due to appear in court this morning (Monday) charged with assault and being drunk and disorderly in Stevenage.
The 46-year-old is expected at Stevenage Magistrates’ Court by 10am to face charges related to an incident at Stevenage Railway Station on the evening of July 4.
Gazza is accused of two counts of assault by beating – one relating to his wife Sheryl – and being drunk and disorderly in a public place.
He was arrested by Hertfordshire Constabulary and released on bail before being charged with the offences on July 21.
The former midfielder, who lives in Gateshead, played for an array of clubs during his football career, including Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, Lazio and Glasgow Rangers.
