Five teenagers have been arrested in connection with a late night brawl outside a pub.

The Stevenage youths, three 17-year-olds, and an 18 and 19-year-old, were arrested on suspicion of GBH after an assault outside The Poachers in Bedwell Crescent, Stevenage at around 10.30pm last Saturday.

A 30-year-old Stevenage man suffered bruising and swelling to his face and jaw in the incident. A second man, 59, also from the town, was found at the scene suffering from a fractured eye socket and a fractured arm. He had no memory of events.

Investigating officer, Dc Hayden Coggins, appealed for witnesses to the assault, and in particular anyone who can describe what happened to the second man, to come forward.

“From the CCTV we have viewed, there appears to be a number of people in the area who saw what happened and I would ask these people to contact me,” he said.

If you can help, call Dc Coggins via the non-emergency number, 101, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

The five youths have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
