Fires at Hitchin play area and common

CREWS were called to a common and a playground at the weekend, after reports of fires there.
Firefighters attended Grove Road Recreation Ground in Hitchin on Friday night, after reports that there was a fire.
They were at the scene at 8.56pm, but the fire was out on arrival.
On Saturday, crews rushed to Walsworth Common, also in Hitchin, following reports that a recycling bank was well alight.
The fire was out at 9.43pm, nearly 15 minutes after crews arrived.
The cause of both fires is doubtful.
