A CHILD was taken to hospital after a house caught fire in Hitchin yesterday morning (Thursday).
Fire engines from Hitchin and Stevenage were called to North Place at around 8am after reports of a heavily smoke logged two-storey terrace house.
The blaze is believed to have started in a rear upstairs bedroom but the cause is unknown at present.
The fire had been put out by 8.35am.
A boy was taken to hospital with burns to his hands.
