Firefighters and police searched the lake at Stevenage’s Fairlands Valley Park last night amid concerns that someone may have fallen in – but nobody was found.
Officers are set to continue the search this morning, after an extensive effort last night involving boats, drones and the police helicopter.
Firefighters were called to the scene at 5.48pm, with engines rushing to the lake from Stevenage, Welwyn Garden City and Potters Bar fire stations.
Police joined the search after being called by the fire service shortly after 6.10pm.
The Potters Bar crew operated a search drone, and the firefighters also had a water rescue platform on scene.
The ambulance service sent two rapid response vehicles, two ambulance crews, an ambulance officer and the hazardous area response team.
Nobody was found, and firefighters stopped the search at 7.39pm last night.
A fire spokesman said crews remain available today in case police need assistance.
