A fire has destroyed a barn storing 200 tonnes of hay just outside Baldock at the weekend.
Fire crews, two from Stevenage and one from Welwyn Garden City, were called to the blaze on Bygrave Road at about 6.20pm.
A jet and hosereel were used to put out the fire, and horses were led to safety in a nearby field.
Crews left the scene at 9.32am yesterday morning, after considerable damping down to make the area safe.
