Stevenage firefighters tackled a blaze involving 300 bales of hay in fields off Walkern Road in Stevenage last night.
Two fire engines went to the scene at 5.30pm and initially used a covering jet to tackle the flames.
A second fire broke out in an adjacent field and crews had to dampen fences and hedgerows to stop the blaze spreading.
The firefighters monitored the blaze throughout the night and by 7.30am this morning it had burned out.
