Fire breaks out in Stevenage flat block

Firefighters have been called to a Stevenage block of flats this morning to tackle a blaze on the first floor.

One crew from Stevenage was called just after 9.50am with reports of a fire inside a first floor flat in Prestatyn Close.

The hallway for the block is said to be ‘full of smoke’ but everyone has been accounted for.

Police have also been called.

Update: The fire was out at 10.15am and ventilation is in progress.
