THERE is still time to sign up for a charity walk which is raising money to support a hospice.

Stevenage FC goalkeeper Chris Day will be travelling back from the game at Tranmere on Saturday, September 7, to take part in the Starlight Walk that evening.

The walk, which allows people to follow a six or 10-mile route, is raising money for the Garden House Hospice (GHH) in Letchworth GC.

The annual Starlight Walk began in 2009 as a ladies-only event, but for the first time is welcoming men to take part.

Chris is taking part with his wife, Andrea, in memory of his father-in-law, John Lusby, who died at the hospice in July last year.

He said: “I would like to encourage as many people as possible to take part to make sure the hospice is there for them should they need it some day.”

Andrea added: “After the wonderful care my dad received, as well as the support my family received, I cannot express how important it is that events like the Starlight Walk are fully supported to raise both awareness and funds so they can continue the excellent work they do.”
