THERE is less than one week to go to send in your entries to The Comet's short story competition.

So far we have had a great response from readers whose entries have been both passionate and intriguing and the pile of entries continues to get larger by the day.

The deadline for entries is 5.30pm on July 11 and the stories will be judged three days later by a panel which includes international best-selling author Ken Follett.

Remember, there are two categories - under 16s, over 16s - and the winners will receive book tokens from Ottakar's and a collection of books courtesy of Bloomsbury Publishing.

Entering our competition, which is in association with 1book4stevenage, could not be easier.

To be in with a chance of winning all you have to do is write a 400-word thriller set in Stevenage and either email to us at editorial@thecomet.net or send it in the post to Short Story Competition, The Comet, Bank House, Primett Road, Stevenage, SG1 3EE. Don't forget to include which category you are entering.

There is not long left now so get writing.
