A WOMAN who has been given a spot at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival is performing locally to raise funds.
Former Hitchin Girls' School pupil Andreya Lynham, 24, is pursuing an acting career but has recently got into writing her own material.
She has joined up with another actress, Charlotte Curtis, and the pair have written All Two Girlie - a collection of comedy sketches which they will perform at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival throughout August.
Miss Lynham, who still lives in Hitchin, said: "As you can imagine this is a big deal to us, even to be asked to perform there is an achievement in itself, but it also comes as a huge expense to us.
"Therefore we will be performing locally, at the Queen Mother Theatre Studio venue as a fundraising venture for the bigger cause, Edinburgh Fringe!"
The women describe their comedy as similar to Catherine Tate Show, Monkey Trousers and Green Wing.
The show features more than 20 quirky characters. Miss Lynham said: "Many will make you cringe with delight as you recognise aspects of them in yourself or those around you."
* The hour-long show will start at 8pm at the Queen Mother Theatre's Studio venue today (Thursday, June 29), tomorrow and on Saturday.
