POLICE are concerned for the safety of a young man who vanished from his home more than two weeks ago.
Darren Coombs, 24, who lives in East Road, Langford, with his father, was last seen on Monday, April 3, when he left home saying he was going to see a friend in Bedford and would be back the following weekend.
Mr Coombs is described as white, 5ft 11ins tall, slim with very short hair. He also wears glasses and has a large tattoo of a dragon on his right arm. When last seen he was wearing a black leather jacket and jeans and was carrying a black rucksack with blue flashes.
It is not known who Mr Coombs, who is unemployed, was planning to visit in Bedford and police are keen to speak to that friend or anyone who might have seen him on the Monday he left home.
His mother, who lives in Leeds, and girlfriend who lives in Grays, Essex, have not seen him or had any contact with him.
Sgt Ron Gwilt, of Bedfordshire Police, said: "Darren does not drive and it is possible someone may recall seeing him on a bus or getting on a train.
