AN ethnic fashion show is the highlight of Diwali celebrations at a market this Saturday.

Traders at Hitchin market will be entering into the festival spirit with traditional, cultural music and dance, in addition to the fashion show.

Stalls will be selling aromatherapy products, henna tattoos, candles, cakes and sweets.

Cllr Ian Knighton, North Hertfordshire District Council's portfolio holder responsible for leisure, said: "The market is a vital part of Hitchin and we are pleased to contribute to a festival which celebrates light and generosity."

Hitchin area committee chairman Cllr Judi Billing, who will be visiting the market on the day, said: "I am really looking forward to it. It is wonderful to join in such a positive and happy occasion.
