Snuffling piglets, rolling fields and tractor rides are some of the attractions at farms opening up their gates to the public in Comet country next weekend.
Offley Hoo farm in Great Offley, Weston Park Farm in Weston and Church Farm in Ardeley will all be open to visitors on June 13 as part of Open Farm Sunday – a national scheme aimed at giving people a taste of farming life.
Jon Birchall, farmer at Offley Hoo, said: “Our theme this year is ‘bread and butter’ as we grow wheat for two national companies. Come and enjoy a tractor and trailer ride, see the sheep being sheared and learn how wool is spun, see the cow being milked and how wheat is milled.
“There will be a farm walk, a special hide set up to watch red kites, picnic, and our starring role – our rare breed animals, including lambs, calves and piglets!”
