A parish council officially opened a £100,000 sports facility last weekend.
Kings Walden Parish Council unveiled its Family Inclusive Sports Zone at Breachwood Green last Saturday.
The Sports Zone includes a Multi-Use Games Arena (MUGA), an exercise area with outdoor gym equipment, outdoor table tennis and a Street Snooker court.
The ribbon was cut by Bobby White, captain of the UK Olympic handball team, who spoke about how this was a wonderful legacy from the 2012 London Olympics. The £100,000 facility was constructed by Play Innovation and funded by various grants.
The floodlit facility is free for daytime casual use 365 days a year and can be booked for evening and reserved events.
Kings Walden Parish Council also announced that phase three of the project, an all-weather tennis court, is now fully funded and the contract will be awarded this week, for completion in the summer.
