Family fun at Letchworth’s Standalone Farm

There was plenty of fun at the farm at the weekend as families flocked to get a piece of the action.
Youngsters descended on Standalone Farm in Letchworth in their droves and made plenty of furry friends along the way.
There was a chance to take part in pony grooming, pig feeding and cow milking at the farm, with flocks of sheep and their baby lambs never too far afield, either.
Kids also took advantage of the traditional sports day activities on offer by getting involved in egg and spooncompetitions, beanbag throwing, tractor racing and much more besides.
The Wilbury Road-based farm, which opened for this year’s season on March 1, also boasts alpacas, Shire horses, donkeys, goats and newly hatched chicks, as well as smaller animals like guinea pigs, rabbits and degu.
Funded by the Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation, the site also has a new cafe for visitors to enjoy.
Daily ticket prices are £5 for children and seniors and £6 for adults, while those under two and the disabled go free.Visit www.standalonefarm.com to find out more.
