Family escape from house fire in Stevenage

Parents and their three children – all under five – escaped from a house fire in Stevenage in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Fire crews were called to the property in Gonville Crescent at 12.37am.

Two fire engines attended and crews quickly got the blaze under control.

A man and a woman and their three children escaped from the property safely, but have not been able to return to it.

There were no casualties and crews were finished at the scene by 1.34am.
