A FAMILY is taking part in a charity walk to raise money in memory of a loved one.

Jayne Davis, from Hitchin, died aged 48 last November after battling breast cancer.

Now, seven family members and a group of friends are hoping to raise money to donate to Letchworth GC-based Garden House Hospice, which cared for Mrs Davis.

Among them are her sisters Karen Perkins and Jackie Goodwin, who will take on the six mile Starlight Walk on the night of September 7.

Mrs Perkins said: “When going into the Garden House Hospice with my sister Jayne, she would always say ‘It’s like getting a great big cuddle as they take away my worries’.

“The main reason for us doing the walk was so we could thank all the doctors, nurses, and staff who work at the Garden House Hospice for all the help they have given to Jayne and our family over the years.”

The pair will also be joined by their mother Rene Grant, and Mrs Perkins’ daughter Jodie, as well as a number of people who knew Jayne.
