IT TOOK a tree-mendous effort to clear a Letchworth GC street after strong winds caused damage across the area last weekend.
This ornamental crab apple tree in Lawrence Avenue was a victim of the unseasonably high gusts and was blown right over, blocking the road.
Comet reader Chris Jones snapped the fallen tree.
Workers from Hertfordshire County Council had cleared the obstruction by Monday.
Elsewhere in Comet country, another fallen tree caused problems for a woman who had parked near Swingate House in Stevenage.
She returned to her car to find a tree on top of it.
