Boro chairman Phil Wallace insists the worries about the collapse of Setanta have not dampened his enthusiasm for the 2009/10 season.
Wallace cut short his stint in the US to map out a plan with the club's board members to address the 100,000 shortfall in Boro's budget after Setanta went into administration.
But as the club prepare for their first pre-season friendly against Chelmsford on Wednesday, Wallace said he is still looking forward to Boro testing themselves against teams that are used to plying their trade in the Football League.
"I'm still looking forward to the start of the season," said Wallace. "You take a look at the league and you've got a lot of what are traditionally Football League clubs in there.
"The likes of Luton, Mansfield, Wrexham, Cambridge and Oxford to name a few - there are a lot of strong teams in there and we are all looking forward to competing against them.
"We've got a strong squad together and we're all looking forward to what will hopefully be a successful year for us.
