STEVENAGE Borough has announced it has secured the coaching services of current women's England international and Everton player Natasha Dowie.
The striker will join the club's community team which will see her coach at numerous schools in the area as well as Academy-based community sessions.
In addition, the 21-year-old will also be taking on the responsibility of developing women's football at the club, with a vision to establishing a weekly girls' football session and eventually an SBFC Women's team.
Boro's head of community Alex Tunbridge said: "We are delighted to have Natasha onboard with us at the club. Not only is she a good coach but she will also help to raise the profile of both the club and women's football within the area."
Dowie currently has one full international cap and 45 caps at youth level and will be making an appearance at the club's forthcoming match against Kettering town on Saturday, January 23, to present certificates to students who have just completed the club's Entry to Employment football course.
Dowie joined Everton in 2007 from Charlton Athletic and is the niece of former Crystal Palace and Coventry City manager Iain Dowie.
