A former town clerk’s claim that she was unfairly forced from her position has been rejected by an employment tribunal.
Arlesey Town Council today announced that the employment tribunal brought against it by Elsie Hare had been concluded in its favour, with the council awarded costs of £350.
Mrs Hare had claimed constructive dismissal after resigning from her position in February 2015, two months before a town council disciplinary hearing.
A statement posted this afternoon on the town council’s Facebook page reads: “Arlesey Town Council can today report that the employment tribunal brought against the Council by the former town clerk, Mrs Elsie Hare, has been concluded with a positive outcome for ATC.
“Mrs Hare’s claim of constructive unfair dismissal has not been successful and has been dismissed. Furthermore, ATC has been awarded costs of £350.
“ATC would like to thank Councillor Chris Livermore for his considerable time and efforts in working with ATC’s legal representatives in the defence of this case, along with all those who gave evidence in support of ATC.”
