The film, Do Not Disturb, is to be part of a national campaign to raise awareness of the dangers of using social media while driving.

The students, from Elstree University Technical College, have been shooting at set locations across Hitchin and Stevenage. They are also the film’s writers, producers and directors.

EUTC projects manager Anne Lean said: “The talent of our students, supported by the experience and generosity of filmmakers including MGM Cars, CVP Productions, Everything Audio, Life Cast and Elstree Studios is truly inspirational. We are making a film that will save lives.”

The film, which has also involved professional stunt performers, will be entered into a competition – the winner of which is to be announced by the fire and rescue service in November.
