The draw for the revamped EFL Trophy will take place on Wednesday morning.

This year’s competition, known in recent years as the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy, will see League One and League Two sides drawn against Category One Academy teams.

There will be 16 academy sides taking part, and the identity of these teams will be announced 30 minutes before the draw takes place at 10am.

The offer to enter the competition was recently extended to Championship clubs after several Premier League clubs, including Manchester United and Manchester City, were reported to have opted out of the draw.

Coverage of the group stage draw will be made via the Twitter account of the Trophy @EFLTrophy.
