A community exhibition which showcased photographs taken by children across Stevenage was among the finalists of the Tes School Awards 2018 held on Friday.
A Moment in Time – a unique collection of photographs taken by children showing how places in Stevenage have changed over time – was up for the Community and Collaboration Award.
Christina Anderson, inclusion leader at Woolenwick Infant and Nursery School, was among those to be invited to the evening at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London after overseeing the project – and earlier this month was invited to tea at the House of Commons in recognition of being shortlisted.
“We didn’t win but it was a fantastic evening,” said Christina.
“Our children have been so excited but it’s been the same across Stevenage as it’s a town-wide project covering 23 children’s centres, infant, junior and secondary schools – there’s been town-wide excitement about being finalists.”
