A 31-year-old man from Stevenage has been arrested in connection with yesterday’s bomb scare hoax at Shefford Lower School.
Officers from Bedfordshire Police were called to the school at 11.25am yesterday after reports of a bomb threat, with pupils and staff evacuated to the nearby Robert Bloomfield Academy while they searched the School Lane site.
A police spokeswoman said “no viable threat to the school” was found and that a 31-year-old man from Stevenage had since been arrested “on suspicion of making a bomb hoax”.
He has not been charged, but remains in custody at this time.
