Parents and carers in Herts have been reminded of the importance of applying for school places before the deadline on Monday.

The process for applying to primary, junior and middle school places for September ends that day, and Herts County Council’s cabinet member for education has urged anyone yet to apply to do so as soon as possible.

Councillor Terry Douris said: “Last year almost 99 per cent of children in Herts were allocated one of their four ranked primary, junior or middle schools and nearly 95 percent allocated one of their four ranked secondary or upper schools.

“We’re not always able to completely satisfy parental preference, despite working very hard to achieve this. I would urge parents/carers to carefully consider the schools they rank, to make realistic preferences and to visit local schools before applying.”

Apply at hertfordshire.gov.uk/admissions. You can amend your application at any time up to the deadline.
