PRIORY School's GCSE and BTEC results are up on last year.

Of the 161 students sitting one or both types of exam, a record 65 per cent gained five or more A* to C grades, up on 57 per cent last year, with 46 per cent achieving an A* to C grade in English and maths.

More students than ever at the Hitchin school gained the top A and A* grades, including Natalie Arnold, who achieved 10 A*s and three A grades and Kieran Lucia who was awarded seven A*s, three As, two Bs and a C.

Peter Loach, headteacher, said: "We are so proud of all of our students - they have worked extremely hard to achieve these outstanding results. We are delighted with their success and I know they would want me to thank their parents and teachers for their ceaseless support and dedication.
