TWO primary schools created their own newspapers during a special newsday this week, and were also given a lesson on how the industry works.
Pupils from Whitehill Junior School and Our Lady RC Primary School, both in Hitchin, were treated to a newsday at The Priory School as part of its Primary School Week.
They worked in groups to create their own newspapers, write stories and make up their own headlines.
The two sessions, which were run from the school’s library, included a helping hand from The Comet, with reporter Laura Burge giving advice on how a newsroom works.
“It was an inspirational session. Informative and exciting for young writers,” said Year 4 teacher at Our Lady RC, Mrs Rosa Phillips.
