Billie Newman, Lilyella Broux, Jacob Coleman and Karmarley Jones Ebanks from the North Herts Education Support Centre have entered a Dragon’s Apprentice Challenge, with the goal of turning £100 into £1,000 or more for their designated charity.

They’ve received advice from Paul and Marie Clinton from Stevenage’s On the Green restaurant, and are fundraising for Carers in Hertfordshire.

Now Louise Whipp from the Little Deli in Hermitage Road is selling their fruit cakes for £5 each, with all proceeds going to the charity.

Billie said: “I’m purchasing manager of the team, so I had to make sure the ingredients were all within our budget – but at the same time I had to make sure that they were of good quality and we had enough in stock.”

The team were advised by NHESC’s Kate Robinson.
