STUDENTS across Comet country were today (Thursday) celebrating their GCSE results.

Year 11 pupils found out their fate this morning, with many securing the grades to go on to sixth form or college. Others will go into employment or apprenticeships.

The success was tinged slightly, though, with many schools criticising marks awarded in English. Many headteachers have said they will be appealing against the grades given.
