STUDENTS at Marriotts School in Stevenage are celebrating a record set of GCSE results.

The number of students achieving five A*-C has improved for the third year in a row to 85 per cent. This improvement has also been reflected in the number of students achieving five A*-C grades including English and maths to 48 per cent.

Acting headteacher Geraint Edwards said: “Our GCSE results this year are extremely pleasing. They are by far the best that the school has ever achieved, and I am delighted for all of the students who have worked so hard and thoroughly deserve their success.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff for their professionalism, dedication and hard work in preparing the students for such a brilliant set of examination results.”
