HITCHIN Girls’ School saw a third of all pupils get seven or more A* and A grades.
The school was celebrating a fantastic year of results, with 90 per cent of the students getting at least five A*-Cs, and 82 per cent of those including maths and English at A*-C.
There were 17 girls who got 10 or more A*s and As, with 41 per cent of all students’ grades A*s and As and 68 per cent A*-B.
One student, Hope Abbott, got 12 GCSEs, all of which were A*s and As.
Headteacher Frances Manning said: “I’m delighted, they are really good results.
“The girls are really happy, and most have got the grades that they needed to go on from here.
“There were lots of happy faces this morning.”
