The headteacher of Samuel Whitbread Academy says the Clifton school is among the top performing in the county after 64 per cent of Year 11 students gained A* to C in English and maths – 10 per cent up on last year.
Overall, a fifth of all grades achieved were either A or A* and 34 students gained at least eight A to A* grades.
High achievers included Ella Burns gaining 10 A*s and Ben Sewell receiving nine A*s.
Principal Rob Robson said: “This is a great set of results for Samuel Whitbread Academy and puts us back up among the top performing schools in the county.
“I’m delighted for all the students who now have the results they need to take the next steps in their education at college, apprenticeships or in our outstanding sixth form.”
